New Betta Owner

About a month and a half in.

Male named Otis.

3 gallon with Whisper filter and 50W automatic heater (76-80 deg)

Live plant on left, fake middle and right.

Marks are left are on picture and not in or outside of tank. Darn mobile phone cameras. :)

Any suggestions or comments? Ideas for different decorations? Sand or gravel?

Thanks!!

Looks good. I would add a cave structure of some kind.

UPDATE...Added an Anuibus per the great advice and hollow driftwood in the middle for some extra places if he chooses to hide in there. Hasnt yet. Also cut a piece of plastic water bottle and put over front of filter to cut back on current. Seems much happier swimming on right side of tank now. The flow is reduced to the back right side of the tank now instead of the front.

I like it. I have the same log in one of my tanks. Little things make a big difference.

Looks great :D

Be wary, it's not uncommon for betta to hop out so if you can find a cover for a reasonable price, do it just in case.

The package clearly said to bury the root under the gravel. Should I take it out tonight when I get home and let it lie on top instead?

Thanks
