Too much?

Hi
I recently started my sorority but I've been breaking my head about the filters i am using.
Fist tank is a 55 gallon, it houses 12 females (for now, trying to ad at least 10 more ) and the filters are HOB 1 Marineland penguin 350 and 1 emperor 400.

You know, after what you said i have been paying attention to my tank and it seem that the filters are causing too much agitation on the surface so my bettas hang mostly at the middle/bottom of the tank.

Well you only really need about 150gph for that tank since it is a betta tank, so you dont need both filters and you dont even need the one turned up all the way.
