Dropped a betta while changing water :(

I just brought home another rescue, this one was in good shape. While I was emptying his bag water into a small bowl to acclimate him to a larger one, he flopped off the side and onto the table.. he only fell a few inches and only laid there a few seconds, but now he's just laying on the bottom totally unresponsive :( If I lose another one, no more rescues. I rescued one whose back end was paralyzed, one with dropsy and one with severe ammonia poisoning an emaciation and I've gotten no luck.. now I get this one who was more or less okay and I'm afraid I've killed him.. ideas? :( I've never dropped a betta before :(

If the water is all ready to go,it was probably two things.

1. Not acclimated for long

2. Dropped

It's probably major major major stress. He'll probably snap out of it soon, you can maybe try stress coat if you have any.

It's the same water that was in his bag. I hadn't added any new water yet. His ammonia level is only .25ppm so there's no huge rush. I want to get him warm first then I'll acclimate tomorrow.

He's already fine! :D and he ate two pellets. I think I shocked him.. I do have stress coat. I'll add that too.

My girl jumped out of her tank and fell about 4 feet, stayed out of the water for at least a half hour before I found her, and she's fine (this happened a little over 2 months ago, now you'd never even knew it happened). So, as you've noticed, yours is already doing better, and he will be fine.

Definitely do not underestimate bettas. I have had females who (I measured) could jump a good 8-9 inches sideways (across water) and 5 inches high. Definitely cover the top of the tank/bowl!
