You can read all you want to. Thats why there are so many issues, most come from people WHO READ TO MUCH garbage, then have to ask what happened. And people who give advice that read to much, and don't know what they are talking about.

I am pretty good at recognizing trash. Like get this one according to Aquarium fish guide Bettas are Omnivores and there are so many cichlids for a 5-10 gallon. You do realize reading a post is still reading? Expeirnce varies from person to person facts that are correct are forever. I have seen many Bettas thrive in .1-.25 gallon containers unheated unfiltered with no water changes.

Yikes! If you're concerned about water conditions, I would suggest getting a water test kit. That way you will know exactly what your fish is dealing with, if he is dealing with anything at all.

He is STUNNING by the way! Hope your friends take super good care of him while you're gone!

I'm going to try to get one for Christmas! I hear they're all really expensive :/
But he seems better now. I've come to the conclusion that his filter is way too strong for him. he starts swimming sideways when I turn it on :/

Oh and thank you! I'm surprised I was able to find him as healthy as he is. I went back to the petstore where I got him and they all look pretty bad now :/
