Please help

My Betta who's has always been long and flowing is now jagged I dont know whats going on but im worried.

Housing
What size is your tank? 5G
What temperature is your tank? 78
Does your tank have a filter? Yes
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?No
Is your tank heated?Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? Yes he has a chinese ( which I know can turn carn but my mom refushes to let me get rid of it). and a snail which I did not know about untill about two weeks ago Apparently cleaning the Sword did not work but I thought it was okay :C

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish?I tore the package but its the omega gold I think
How often do you feed your betta fish? 3 pellets in the morning three at night fast once a week

Maintenance

How often do you perform a water change? Once a week or more depending if I can get a change in before I go to work one night
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 25%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change?Water condionter

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:7.6 or something not sure im reading the thing right
Hardness:
Alkalinity:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? His tail has become Jagged
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? It hasnt
When did you start noticing the symptoms? this morning
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Yes I changed the water this morning did at 25%CHANGE
Does your fish have any history of being ill? No
How old is your fish (approximately)? Not sure sorry


Please please dont go off on me for having the snail and a chinese I dont want to deal with it. He is acting fine and was even flaring at my Iphone when I took the pictures and posing for pictures silly boy

It looks like he's either biting his tail, tearing it on something, or something else is biting his tail.
Tail biting is actually quite common among long finned fish, especially if they are bored or under a lot of stress.

I have heard that some people place different objects in the front of the tank (not in the tank) for the betta to look at. Some love certain objects. You could try that and see how he reacts.

Beautiful fish by the way. Looks similar to my crowntail male.
