Tank Christmas tree

I bought a tank Christmas tree on Amazon its made by Penn-Plax and I love it but it worries that there is glitter on it. I have soaked it over and over in very hot water and used a new toothbrush to brush off as much as the glitter as I can and will continue to do so before I put in the the tank if I do cause I am just not sure if its safe. I have emailed Penn-Plax to ask I hope I hear back from them. The tree is fish safe resin so thats fine but the glitter I am not sure of. It does sink to the bottom and is very tiny like specks but just not willing to risk Perseus if this thing is not safe because of the glitter. May just put it in for a picture and them take it out. I did email someone on ebay who had a couple for sale and asked about it and they said they had one in their tank with no problems. I found another site that sells them and also emailed them but havent heard back from them yet. Here is that link and the Christmas Tree. What do you all think ?

I don't get why they make it for aquariums, yet put glitter on it.

I too would be worried about the glitter, and the glue they most likely sprayed over it to get the glitter to stick. Epoxy would probably be the safest route - I mean, I'm sure it's safe by whatever code they have to follow.. but you never know because so many things are sold that are supposedly made for fish, but can/is dangerous.

Grrr.. such a cute ideal too :(

i am also still weary of ornaments and leaching chems and so forth. glitter being metallic seems like a poor choice for fish. wonder why they did that. you could go over it with some good tape and get all the loose glitter off. i'd go with the epoxy. i saw that someone tried to contact penn-plax for the same issue and they never answered.
