Long finned PK.. fun!

For some reason the fry from a line of PKs had extra long fins.. the breeder (who is wonderful and awesome) sent me one with another fish gift not to long ago.. she had sold them all but a couple she kept and the one she sent me. I originally was just going to give him a home in my plant tank to help keep the plants fertilized.. but instead I think I'll try breeding him.

His name is Oliver, Ollie for short, and Quasimodo lovingly as he has a hump on his back (that seems to be straightening out as he grows). The person who bought all of the others from this spawn is going to work on shortening the fins.. me? I'm going to work on getting them longer lol. Hopefully make full HMs.

He seemed to love my yellow girl the most, so going to give them a go and see how he does breeding/fathering. If all goes well, going to search for a female to compliment his colors.

Even a "deformed" betta can be pretty :)

Thanks, I will :) Hopefully this female is a bit gentler.. her half sister is a bit aggressive and demolished her mate before they could breed.

Wow! You never know how they will react they all have there personalities. Do you know how to raise baby Bettas? I just got one Baby Betta last month trying to work it out.

Babies can be tricky, depending upon size/experience. Just make sure the water is plenty warm enough and fed small, multiple meals high in protein. And water quality is very very important.. not enough water changes can stunt their growth. So 2-3 per week for a baby betta from Petco is important. :)
