Tilted / now floating - new betta - help!

YAY! So happy to hear he's fine now :)

His buoyancy isn't 100% still but he pooped out three long white worms just yesterday after being medicated for only 24 hours. I'm so happy that he's finally improving AND I was able to use a medication I could find locally so I didn't have to wait a week for a shipment... I PMed Sakura and followed her directions exactly. :)

I try, during the day. But eventually, I need to sleep.... And when I check on him in the morning, there are bits of tail fin scattered across the bottom of the tank. It looks like someone sprinkled colorful confetti bits....

I've tried making the tank darker, making it lighter,... reducing the temperature, raising the temperature,... hiding the neighboring tanks, revealing the neighboring tanks,... adding plants, moving plants,.....

It doesn't seem to matter. He chews his tail during the night.....

I'm trying to figure out how to make a fish-sized E-collar. LOL

Haha, I'm not sure that would make him less stressed!

I know Syriven had a Betta who recently passed away who was also a chronic tail biter. He was a pain in her butt but she loved him to death! I'm not sure what she did to deal with the tail biting... I do know she has a journal in the journals section. Stress Coat is probably something you can add to the water every time you do a change that may help a slight bit if you don't already use it, but it won't stop him from tail biting, unfortunately.

My CT loves following my finger and jumping out of his water at it.. He even reached my finger once and startled me! He also plays "peek-a-boo" with me, haha. His fins are probably just heavy for your guy. Do you have plenty of tall plants for him to rest on or a hammock or something? I just got a plastic cup for both of them that hopefully will float because I know they both like to rest near the surface. I haven't tested them yet but hopefully they work... If not, they were only 87 cents, haha. I got a spongebob one for DaBaDees spongebob theme tank and a hello kitty one for Bahari's colorful tank xD it had rainbows on it..

I spent half of my day wrapping presents and they're both sleeping now. DaBaDee is still making progress so if those cups work, I won't be able to put his in his tank until after I move him back to his five gallon..
