So I went to Petco to get some more gravel for my tank today, and I decided to go look at the bettas even thought I told myself not to since I would probably want to buy one. I'm headed back home from college tomorrow, so buying a betta would
probably be a bad idea since I would have to bring him home and back during the course of 3 weeks. I saw some gorgeous fish (probably new shipment) like a salamander halfmoon butterfly and a stunning turquoise halfmoon doubletail plakat. But as I looked up to the very tippy top of the display, I saw this guy and fell in love and had to take him home. Taking pictures of him was hard because he always moves last second or decides to stay in the back of the tank, but I got some nice pics.

I'm a sucker for light colored doubletails, and his markings were beautiful. His dorsal is a bit torn, but we can fix that

. I was going to replace the fake bamboo with real plants when I get back, but he just seems to love hiding among the leaves. It's going to be a long 6hr train ride home, but we can make it. I'm going to put him back into his cup with fresh water and wrap it up with a scarf.
