The females often look like that because they are full of eggs and not bloated :)

They have? Well that's certianly good to hear! About time. I suppose enough people must have complained about the wire rusting.

As far as the females go, I agree with Ayala. Often females tend to have a naturally slightly rounder belly then males, IME.
