Some kind of disease...

Not sure if I'm dealing with ick, but my blue betta Pierre seems to be suffering from some sort of fungus. He has white fluffy/feathery appearing things hanging on him. They arent very big but they are definitely new. Started noticing it within the last week or so. He has resorted to rubbing on his rocks as though he's trying to get it off. He isn't covered with them; theres only 2 or three of these hanging from him. They're fairly small, but are not salt-like in appearance the way ick is usually described. He also is not "sprinkled" with them.

Any ideas? Is it ick or something else, and how should I go about treating it?

Tank is the betta bow 2.5 gal., temp is about 80, ammonia, pH, and nitrate sensors are normal/safe. Water changes are done about every 5 days.

I can try to get a picture, although he's never been one to sit still.

white feathery stuff on your betta is body fungus. i would recommend finding some fungal treatment..

ok, what is a good, safe treatment?

and also, how can I prevent this from happening in the future? Is it something I did wrong with my water change? His water was last changed on Monday. He was given new rock substrate on Monday when his water was done. However this was thoroughly soaked and rinsed several times before being put into his aquarium.
