Oh happy days!

Got a couple Christmas presents tonight! Should arrive soon.. yay! A breeder in my state who is just awesome (Jen Sisk of Blackwater Bettas) is sending me the red male who is the father of my Rebel and Ranger, and a new guy.. so happy!
They are experienced breeders and great fathers, so they should do well with my females who are a bit aggressive to my passive young boys. I hope!

She only charged me shipping.. but I felt bad so I sent her more because she is being totally awesome :)

The red one is a Thailand import, and the other guy unsure of.. but they will have some nice babies with my females I hope!

Oh wow! They're beautiful!

I haven't seen a gold like that before. Do you think he'll produce offspring with his coloring?

lol thanks :)

And he may, Little. Depends on whether the female will compliment him and bring it out. I will have to keep my eyes open for a more mustard girl to go with him, as the one I plan to go with him most likely will dull the gold a little and make the green a bit more shiny. But we'll see what happens :)

How would you describe his color? Does he have a green body with a gold layer on top of it? And is he really a shiny gold, like it looks in the picture? Very cool coloring.

The red guy is also great. But it's just that I haven't seen a gold betta before, so it's something new!

It was classified to me as a mustard (sort of like a mustard gas), but otherwise I am like you, unsure what to call it - I need to figure out something before I breed him lol

I think you need to come up with a new name. "Myatesgold," or something. LOL
