I forgot to mention fishy #4 was named Tails the Tiny Fish. So far, the new one is doing well. He's managed to live a full 36 hours so far. This morning, he was swimming along happily in his bare tank. I don't want to put him in the other one until I'm done with the epsom salts. I read that it should be a 10 day routine. Is that correct? If so, today is clean tank and refill with epsom salts.

SeaChem actually makes a betta conditioner. I would guess however, that the water chemistry, pH or the like may be off. The only time I lost fish that fast was due to pH shock --- and then I learned to not only acclimate to temperature but also the possible water change ---- goood luck
