salt in my betta tank?

I've read a couple articles about people putting salt in their betta tanks to discourage bacteria. Is this something I should do? If so how much so I put in? (I have a 2.5 gallon tank)

No. Bettas are a freshwater fish and do not require salt.

You can put SOME salt BUT NOT that much. I put about a teaspoon per gallon.
