Torn gill?

Hello, I got my beta about two months ago, and this past Saturday (now Monday) I was out and when I came back later that night I noticed that my betta's gill looked as if it had been torn. I'm not sure, but it looks like he might have been flaring too much and maybe caught his gill on something...? (The light in his tank was on and the light in my room was off causing a reflection which normally I wouldn't allow, and haven't since).

Other than that, he has been acting completely normal, and eating like a little pig as usual, and I did a 100% water change on Sunday (which I do weekly).

The red is his coloring and doesn't appear any different now than before (as in nothing I can identify as bleeding)

I don't see any torn gills there.

could be gill infamation or hyperglasia, clean water is what helps it heal.

That could be it. Along with clean water, is there anything else you know of that would help heal it?

So then it's likely something else, I assume... It's hard for me to get a really good look at it since he doesn't like to hold still when I get near the tank because he thinks it's feeding time and gets excited.

nope, if there is no visible signs of infection clean water is all it needs :)
