Going away for 10 days

I will be going away for 10 days for the holiday. I have never left my betta alone for more than just a weekend. Besides making sure he has clean water, is there anything I should do before leaving? Will he be ok without food for that long or do I need to get an automatic feeder or something?

How much do you feed him? Most people will say a betta can go quite a while without eating. The betta I just purchased the other day was sitting on the shelf for more than a month and I'm sure he didn't eat that much in the past month.. I think he'll be okay for a week =]

Make sure his water is cleaned before you leave. Make sure tank lights are off as having them on all day will stress him out. And I think he'll be okay without food as bettas in the wild do not eat everyday...I heard bettas could live a few weeks without food. Just feed him before you leave.
