So I have been trying to find a way via Christmas presents or gift cards to get a new small 2-3 gallon tank for a new betta but after heater, gravel, and decorations it was not looking like it was going to happen... BUT THEN a friend of mine said she was getting rid of her tank at work and I could have it and the heater and gravel that she has with it!!! she said it is between 2 and 2.5 gallons and she only had live plants in it, no fish so it should be easy to clean before use :)
Because it had nothing but plants can I just rinse and scrape it for cleaning? Do I need to do anything special to the gravel for cleaning?
I am so excited, I am going to start looking for a new betta now that I know he will have something bigger than my .5 starter tank I use for when I clean Jack's tank.
