Looks like wood, which floats, but more importantly it will rot and quickly.

The other issue is, you do not know what kind of paints were used.

Gotta agree.. no on wood. But most glass and ceramics are fine (ceramics with paint should be glazed/fired).

Yeah it looks like wood which will get destroyed by the water quickly. The paints have chemicals in them that can leech into the water and kill the fish too, and in wood they will leech out very easily.

This makes me want to be in High School ceramics class again...ah the good old days! I wonder if you can glaze and fire ceramics in a regular baking oven...*goes to google*
