Galactus, the Giant CT

So I just adopted a CT, who I named Galactus because he's super aggressive and WILL attack and destroy anything. From the previous owner, they said that He's NEVER lost a fight (kind of sad that they've been using him to fight), but His fins, tails, and everything else is pretty torn up. I have other bettas as well, but never had one in this bad of a condition before. Any ideas on how to get his fins and everything back to normal?

The best thing to do is just keep his water clean and warm. You can also treat wity aquarium salt for a week if you want...

Frequent water changes.. very very clean water because new fin growth is very sensitive how big a contain is he in?

Stress coat at 1 ml per 1 gallon and IAL would also help.

I'd give him his own space away from the other bettas. He's been raised to see and attack so constantly seeing other bettas is probably very stressful for him.

Right now I have him in a 10g tank with heater and filter. He's actually twice the size of all my other bettas, and I think he's pretty old. But yes, he'll flare bite the glass that I had in my "picture-taking" tank, he even bit my net when I was moving him haha! He's a fighter for sure. And YES I will try and do some water changes and AQ salt to see if anything can help

Wow.. It'll be interesting to see if you can mellow him out, poor boy..

Is the tank fully cycled? If it is then just keep up on your weekly water changes.. maybe do 50% weekly. If not it might be easier to help his fins in a smaller tank (around 2 gallons or so) that gets 100% water changes 3 or 4 times a week.

Callistra: Yes, my tank is fully cycled, but If I put him in a 2.5 gal, would I need a Heater and a Filter?!?!

Poor fella. He looks like a shredded HM and not a CT though. My salamander looks just like that after this last spawn.

If it's fully cycled then just staying really on top of your weekly water changes should be good. He should heal up nicely with clean water, good nutrition and time. Stress coat and IAL could also be helpful - take carbon out though or it'll just take these right back out.

A smaller tank wouldn't need a filter. It would need to be heated though. Sometimes those are better because you can do frequent larger and even 100% changes to keep the water pristine.
