Think of your favorite movies, music, TV shows, books, comics, or if you have a hobby maybe some names will come from that. For example if you collect rocks or love cars or sports.

I prefer "people" names for most of my pets. I have Irving, Phillip, Tim Gunn, Stumpy and Q. The girls are Morgana, Marisol, Mab, Mignon, Maudie, Marlo, Macy, Molly, Mia and Charm.

I plan on naming any new boys after Russian composers... I have a list... I like Russian names xD that and the cyrillic alphabet looks totally awesome lol

I had Timaeus, which means honor in Latin. He was actually name for a character in a comic called Homestuck, but he was a valiant little warrior, and was very honorable. Right now, I have Kaiser, who was named for Kaiser Soze of The Usual Suspects by my mother, and Nero, for the Roman emperor, also named by my mother. Nero seems like a very common name for bettas, though.
I really love historical names for fish, or foreign names.
