You will still hear it as mixed information here. Some things work for some people, and not others. However, if you want personal opinion and experiences, I've only used live food rarely as treats. Some bettas are stubborn and you will have to mold them back into eating pellets after feeding live food. In the long term, I don't think much people would like to deal with this as it can get frustrating that their betta is not eating the pellets. Above all, I say live food is great and keeps the bettas very active (caution of diseases), but you probably want to include a variety of live food in their diet. On the other hand, pellets is convenient and quite safe, but bettas are not super crazy for them like they are for live food. Oh, lastly, I hear that peas do more harm than good, but no confirmation of that. You can try to feed peas, but that is if the betta even eats it. Hope this helps.
