Well I went to the store... they didn't have any of what you recommended to me.
They gave me "betta fix" saying that that would do the trick.
Is that true?
He seems to be doing good. Back to dancing in the front of the tank when I go by, and going after the food. BUT HE SPITS IT ALL OUT!!!!!!!!
It worries me...
I'm going to do a full water change now, and look for any poo.

Nope that will do you no good at all. Use yellowpages.com to call aquarium and pet stores in a radius you are willing to drive - I'd put at least a 30min diameter personally. Epsom salts can be found at the pharmacy, not fish store - pure magnesium sulfate.

I didn't think it would... but they didn't have anything else.
My mom has Epsom salts so I'll start that in the meantime.

He woke up today being a very active little fellow... he confuses me...

and thanks Anhel123!

Make sure you predissolve them in some of his tank or other clean dechlorinated water and add slowly over an hour. 1 tsp per gallon.

Oh my gosh! I just read somewhere on here that any medicine with the "fix" in it means it has tea tree oil and that can suffocate them? is that true...?

And yes, I will dissolve them first and add gradually. Does it need to be hot water in order to dissolve and then let cool?

Yes, any medicine with "-fix" has TTO that can coat the labyrinth which cam block them from taking in air from the surface. Don't use it, please... Most people have disasters from it, some are lucky. Best of you to not have a disaster..
It doesn't need to be hot water, just remember to dissolve the salt really thorough so there aren't any more salt crystals.

Yeah I am getting rid of this RIGHT NOW! I only gave him a tiny bit last night. Not even a full dose. It'll be gone right now with his water change.

And thanks. I'll mak sure its fully dissolved first.

Ahh, I'm such a worry wart and this scared me even more...

Also, I looked for an adjustable heater... all of them were gigantic ones for huge tanks :(

I know you said that its better without the heat being bumped up, but was that only for the meds? Or can the Epsom salts be done at 78 degrees as well?
