IAL is way better for tanks. Plus its supposed to take advantage of tge publics. 5 gallons with no water changes.

ChoclateBetta I don't understand your post. Are you saying you don't need to do water changes if you use IAL? This isn't true at all..

I am saying Betta water is a waste. IAL is actually worthwhile. Betta water discourages water changes.

Sorry CB, it doesn't discourage water changes. It even says right on the bottle how often you should do water changes. This is simply for people who don't want to use tap water and water conditioner.

I mean people buy it and decide changing the water is a waste of money.

IAL isn't necessary whatsoever if you just keep up with the recommended weekly water changes depending on the size of your tanks.

Bottled fish water is a complete ripoff. It's there to trick the parents & children who don't have time or are just too lazy to do the proper research on how to "condition" water.

For the price this "bottled fish water" sells for you might as well buy a new fish every 2 weeks.

A bottle of Prime conditioner to treat your tap water is far less expensive & practical if finances are an issue.

O, the picture of the water bottle explains it. Like I said, I have never bought it. I am too cheap :)
LOL at gold fish water sold in pints....lol one oranda can successfully sully 29 gallons in 24 hours....even with single filtration.
as you know, I am an Oranda lover, recently fell head over heels for Bettas.
I use(depending on the tank, fish, and percent of water change I am performing) Jungle Start Right (Doesn't do much of anything, but I like to soak new fake goldfish plants and ornaments in it to "soften and coat") NovaAquaPlus by Kordon and AmGuard by Seachem. (This is a very concentrated product that I think would burn a Betta, but for big fat gold fish....a 1/32 of a tiny capful monthly never hurts)
So I take it, Bettas just need conditioned water for changes? Thanks!

Thank you Chocolate!
I forgot to add that I always add a proportionate amount of aquarium salt per water change.
