&This is my story. {I hope this is alright in this forum!}
I got my first betta Sept. 12, 2010, he was a blue and orange crowntail named Zaboo~ He passed away Dec. 22, 2012 from swim bladder problems.
This is when I first got him:

We had a little trouble near the start, I hadn't gotten around to getting a heater right away in his 2.5 gallon, and this happened:
We made it through that (and a little bit of anorexia! He didn't eat anything for the first 15 days), and it was a little roller coaster since then.
He had two mystery snail buddies, both passed (my fault, I don't think the water was suited for them. I might try them again, they were so much fun!)
Phillip was in his 2.5 gallon with him (see him in the back? He was a little guy):

&Truffle was his 5 gallon buddy (she was much bigger):
His 5 gallon broke (not with him in it, fortunately!), and he was in a 10 gallon since early this year. His tail never fully grew back (I think he bit at it!).. it always looked off but I thought he was handsome anyway~
Well I won't show pictures of his decline, but he had problems with his swim bladder and started to sink near the end. I tried everything, but after 20 days of not eating, he passed. I looked into ways to euthanize him when he got near the end, but nothing seemed right. Knowing how stubborn he is, I felt the best way for him to go would be natural. I had him in a breeder near the top so he didn't have to use so much energy to reach the top, I made him as comfortable as I could. It was hard when he passed, but I was relieved. I was so glad he wasn't struggling anymore. He'll always have a spot in my heart. <3

R.I.P. Zaboo~ <3 <3 <3
I went to the pet store yesterday expecting to find a female, but I fell in love with a really little guy labeled a Halfmoon. He looks more like a delta to me, but what got me was the white on his pelvic fins~ They looked like little barbs.. spikes! So he's my new little guy, his name is Spyke.
