Need For Concern?

Hello everyone!

I recently lost my 2 betta fish and have acquired a new little guy and he's causing me quite a few concerns.

Grimm has a 2.5 gallon filtered, heated tank with gravel and 3 small plastic plants as well as a small "house" for him to hide in. Since being added to the tank yesterday (tank had a full cleaning and 24 hour cycle prior to him being added) He's been really odd and nothing like my other 2 fish. He is refusing to eat and will either hide in the house, or sit at the surface. When he's at the surface, he's blowing large bubbles. The heater is maintaining the temp at 74 degrees, even though it is set to go to 78, it just won't get any warmer. I should add in that my husband did not do the properly adjust him to the new tank/temperature and just dumped him in. Is this normal stress behaviour from the move or should I be concerned that more is happening here?

i say let him be for a day or two, yeah he's just freaked out from the new tank. After i do water changes, mine behave in the same way, shy and lethargic. If the water temperature increases he'll be slightly more active and he'll start eating once he calms down. Im sure he'll be ok just dont move him, that might do more harm then good.

I agree with Foxers, seems like he is just a little stressed out. Give him some time to get used to his surroundings and I'm sure he'll be back to normal. Hope you heater starts working better.
