i just want to add something to callistra good advice. I would do 2x50 and 1-100% water change like callistra said that some people recommending it. Also make sure you leave space between top of the tank and water level as bettas are very good jumpers. It a lot of accident with bettas jump out. The same when you changes him or take out of the water be careful. I had accident also when one of my betta jumped while i was changing it.
If he is not eating but otherwise is active and don't have any visual symptoms on the body then he just adjusting to the new environment.
I agree take the filter out. In the small bowl you don't need it since you will do 100% water changes, and also i think it too much water movement will stress him out.
Also people get crazy about temp 76-80* is the perfect for bettas. I have my bettas in 74-76*. The warmer is the temp the more chance for infections. And also make sure you take out all uneaten food so it will not contaminate the water.

My Bettas like to be in a room with some sunlight, but you want to keep them away from windows, and also any vents - meaning no direct sunlight. The reason is those are the area of the house where the temperature fluctuates the most. You want them on a good interior wall away from any vents or cold air returns. It's perfectly okay if the room is sunny, you just don't want them right in the sun because it will cause big temperature swings. Just make sure when it's night time you let them sleep in pitch darkness. They don't have eyelids so they need the dark to sleep well. One of my bettas is in the same room as my computer so if I know I'm going to be up working very late, I will cover his tank with a towel and leave just a crack at the top so air can get in.

My girl prefers about 76 or 77, any hotter or warmer and she freaks out. My male prefers 78 and up. So it really just depends on your Betta. I'm betting that 80 is good for yours.
