I think he sees himself in the sides. The light overhead is probably contributing to that. It's probably nothing to worry about and he should get used to it and calm down a bit but if he doesn't after a couple days you might try not using that direct light or wrapping the tank in some opaque not too dark and not shiny paper. Something with a pattern works best in my experience.
