My 5 gallon tank is in and today is the 3rd day my Betta is under aquarium salt medication for his fin rots/clamped fins.
the background is extra christmas wrap i taped on to tank


and he met 2 new friends, Neon tetras!
He would chase them around for a little then goes on his own



His new heater for winter - @ 76-78 degrees
It took the heater 12 hours to meet this degree.
It would have been quicker if only I knew warmer water to acclimate with xD



For his aquarium salt, I changed almost everyday 20% aqua-salt water and filter is off until the 10th. Hoping him luck for new fin growth > <

Neons tetras need schools don't they? 3-5 I believe. Also should you have added them in when he has fin rot??

. His fin rot is mild and I don't see any nipping going on but I'll try my best to make them friendly as much as possible. The neon tetras is best six but two is a good enough start and thanks fyr

Neon tetras require a 10 gallon minimum and in schools of at least 6. any less and they will become stressed and ill. They are very sensitive fish and you cannot keep them like this. Also adding them to your tank while your betta is recovering from fin rot is a bad idea because they're just going to make the water dirtier.

That tank is what? about 2 gallons? You need multiple water changes every week while you're treating for fin rot and afterwards you need one 50 and one 100 percent a week... that's without the tetras. I'd be testing daily for ammonia and doing a change any time you see any show up, along with the weekly 100%

Turning your filter off means your bb supply is gone. You will need to recycle your tank once you turn it back on: http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=47838

it's 5 gallons thank u very much and i removed the tetras since it was pretty messy after a day. so 4th day i change another 20%. i'll do 50% on the 5th and 100% on the last day. a teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon
