I find API test kits innacurate. It said the Ammonia in a 30 gallon tank with one stunted Comet that never gets water changes is 0.

That is possible. BB can grow without a filter. If a fish can initially survive the ammonia spike, the ammonia generally subsides after going long enough without a water change... Then the biggest problem is DOCs.

It read Nitrate low too. The Goldfish shows sign of Ammonia Poisoning too.

I have never had a problem with the API Master Test Kit..

Also, many people do not follow the directions properly (particularly on the nitrate test). The Master test kit is not 100% accurate but it is better than the strips and one that is easy for pretty much anyone to get. Not all of us have science labs in our backyard.

well thank you very much for that information. so does this mean i can put zeek in the tank now? and does the filter need to be off or on? and as for the master kit i have to wait until i get paid again bc i spent almost 100 bucks for the little things i got.

Plus the Ammonia read a color that did not seem to match the chart.
