I need help.

Hello one of my bettas has swim bladder right now. I'm going to put her in a hospital tank but I can't remember the Epsom salt dosage and I've looked around this forum and can't find one that the person is completely sure about the dosage. So here's what I plan to do. Put her in hospital tank with bare bottom to watch poop and put Epsom salt in with the water. How do I go about puttin the salt? In with the betta or before I put the betta in? It's a half gallon tank by the way. Thanks for your help! Any suggestions? Go ahead and tell me!

It's 1-3 teaspoons per gallon so 1 teaspoon for you should be fine.. Remember to dissolve it first and IMO setting up the medicated water prior to adding the fish is best to prevent shock. Good luck!

Build up to 1tsp per gallon, predissolved. Start with 1. You can go up to 3tsp but I like to start with 1 and build up gradually.

Epsom salt is very mild and will not harm your betta if it is added gradually or he is acclimated correctly.

If the salt doesn't help at 3tsp per gallon it could be internal parasites. My betta had SBD that I found out later was caused by internal parasites so the salt alone did nothing.

Epsom salt is a laxative.
