If you did your research on the frogs, they need to be hand fed and must not have access to pelleted food as it can cause intestinal blockage. I agree that your current tank is overstocked.

ADFs are also can be fed with turky basters.

I wouldn't go with an ADF as there is a risk of the Betta and them not getting along and then you have to worry about injuries or one killing the other.

Mystery Snails are neat little guys. Many different colors. And they don't eat up healthy plants. They only eat them if you don't feed them! They in fact keep plants healthy because they clean up dead plant matter. Also, this snail comes in male and female, so no babies if you only have 1.

Shrimp are great tankmates and good little cleaners with a VERY low bioload (about 5 per gallon!). Ghosts are Cheaper than Cherrys, but have a higher mortality rate because of being bred to be feeders. Just make sure to give him a place to hid just in case he decides they are a snack

If I were you, I would do maybe 1 small snail and 5-10 shrimp or just shrimp.

I've had my betta in a well filtered 5 gallon (planted) with a few neons for about 5 months now. They get along just fine, but he's a very docile fish who was even afraid of ghost shrimp, so results may not be typical.

Neons should not be in a 5 gallon. You tanks overstocked. No other fish should be with a Betta in a 5 gallon.

That IS atypical Devil! Most of the time, Neons will actually become finnipers when placed in a small space and in groups smaller than 5 (or is it 6?). That's amazing that they have gotten along so well. How are your levels? Are you doing extra pwc to compensate for the bioload?

I do regular water changes and check the levels about every 2 days. Everything is doing well and have had no casualties- including fins.

That's good Devil. Keep up those pwc and testing and watch little man's fins for any shredded looking spots. It's rare for that mix to work well, so just know that you have something special here. It will most likely not work with your next Betta and/or Neons. There are plenty of good options for tankmates when you get to that point though. Best of luck hun
