Help! Embracing problems

My pair have been working on spawning for about 5 hours now and they still have not got the embrace correct. She has dropped very few eggs and I have seen nothing from the male. I have had 2 successful spawns in the past and not had this happen. How long till they figure it out?

Sometimes they never get it and sometimes it takes a few days-to-weeks for them to figure it out. As long as the spawning tank has plenty of places for the female to get away and rest-you might need to leave them together for awhile or swap out one or the other for a different breeder.

Is this the first time they have been spawned and are they about the same size or one not too much bigger than the other. How long and how did you condition them.

IME-every spawn can be different even with the same two breeders....They love to keep us on our toes and thinking outside the box...lol....

This pair is new to each other. And they are the same size. Gosh how frustrating.
