Betta addicted to filter?!

Hi everyone! My name is Emma I'm a first time poster, new member. I have a male Betta. Think he's a Crowntail. I got him from PetCo a little over a year ago and am just trying to educate myself more on the care taking/well being of my lovely fish!

Anyway, my fish seems to have gotten attached to his filter. I don't mean stuck. When you walk by he'll come swim by you to say hello or ask for a tiny treat. He just spends a huge amount of his time looking like he's suctioned to the intake to the filter. Anyone else's fish do this?

Carter avoids his. It could just be getting stimulation.

Here's a pic of him "in the act" lol.

Unfortunately 2 days go I woke up and he has one white spot on each of his eyes, right in the middle. He's still eating well and staying spunky. I'm worried it's Ich or some kind of fungal issue so I'm treating him with medicated drops. Is that right?

Well, you could try private messaging Sakura8 or OldFishLady. I'm not using abbreviations since you're new and they can be confusing. Good luck!

When my male was struggling with a swim bladder issue, underneath the filter intake was his 2nd favorite spot to rest. I guess maybe because he could rest there without floating up to the top. He doesn't hang out there as much as he used to now that he's better. My female hangs out under her filter intake sometimes too. Maybe yours just likes the feel of it.
