Can anyone help me sex my babies?

Skerries:
Before

After

Archipelago:
Before

After

I don't see any sign of an ovipositor on either one, so I'm not sure if male or female. They're about an inch long now.

All help would be appreciated.

Have you tried placing them side by side? My males tend to flare, while females bar up. Another sign, is the ventral fin length... My males have long ventrals, while the females have shorter ones. Anal and caudal tend to be longer on males at that age, and the females have shorter fins. I cannot tell from those pictures, truthfully. A side view would work better.

*** First one looks like a female.

Neither of them flare, their tanks are side by side. Archipelago (the bottom fish) is even right next to my adult male, I never see any flaring. I'm actually trying to get sideviews of each of them, but the batteries in my camera are cruddy! lol

Skerries also strikes me as a girl.

Can you get a side picture of the second one? The first has a thicker body, a belly, shorter ventrals and shorter fins. Should be about 3-5 months, if gotten as babies?

I don't know if these are much better, they'd see the flash on my phone and start dancing...

Archipelago

Skerries

To me, they are both female mainly by the shape of the tummy (most of my 2 month olds have tummies or thicker bodies for females, and streamline for males), and the ventral fins are short on both of them.

I don't know how old either of them are, I bought them on the 16th. When I moved them into the bathroom for pictures, Archipelago got all excited and was dancing at Skerries the whole time, who wanted absolutely nothing to do with Archi.

Also, Skerries' black face was showing up as deep maroon in the light from the bathroom like our adult female, but Archipelago kept the black face. I wish I had a mirror to do that test... When will they begin to show their ovipositors if they have them?

A somewhat better one of Archipelago. The anal fin looks like it goes past the edge of the caudal in this one.

I want to say about a half inch. the cup photos above are deli cups instead of betta cups (just a little bigger) but I think Skerries (who was significantly smaller than Archi till recently) could've laid across my thumbnail. Archipelago was half a head bigger.
