Yeah it did bite me, my hand was gushing blood all over. I tried getting the hook out of his mouth to throw him back because he was too small and his teeth came down right into my hand. Sliced skin like butter. I thought i had to get stitches.

I was bitten by my (at the time) 3 and 1/2 foot long silver arowana... I was cleaning the tank because everything was green and I didn't realize he was patiently waiting to pounce. I had both my arms in the tank and he got me near my elbow... boy did I scream and there was blood... That was the last time I stuck my hands in his tank and was a "lessons learned" to not wait 3 days before a water change and cleaning. LOL

Closely related to the Muskellunge (Esox masquinongy "Muskie"), Wisconsin's state fish, which is even bigger and nastier. You don't want to get bitten by this six-footer.

I checked their is youtube videos of people getting bit by both fish. The Muskie one had to get nine stitches. XD

We have muskies in our lake too. I swear they're not that bad, I've been swimming in that lake for 24 years and I have never encountered one swimming, just when I'm out of the water.

Be thankful my dad was scuba diving and when he came up he THOUGHT he grabbed unto a log.... Not so funny for him, but funny as hell for me. Still it didn't bite, I think you have to be just stupid enough or not paying attention enough and stick your hand/arm in the wrong place

You can tell by that picture above of the Northern pike with all the teeth, that those teeth are just for catching and holding prey to be swallowed whole. They are not for chewing.

In the wild, animals with that type of dentition never bite. They could hurt themselves by doing so.

Of course, if captured, any animal will use any means to defend itself.
