Canister filters?

Anybody use them? I was thinking one would be better for a tank of regular sized betta girls. That way I wouldn't have to hassle with baffles and such.

I set up a canister a couple weeks ago on my 46g, it has a lot of output so its not necessarily true you wouldn't have to baffle it. I have the Fluval 306 which has a lever to adjust the flow but the instructions say not to go less than 1/2 open. I love the filter though its easy to direct the flow in the direction you want the output, easy to clean the media & makes the tank look more open. I have the output a little higher than the water line so its more of a waterfall. My only complaint is the size, you've got to have the space for it.

I was thinking I'd set mine up in the cabinet under the tank and I'd attach the intake and return into a large airstone or even a bubble wand. Think that would work?

Mine is in the cabinet under the tank & I don't hear it at all. I don't use air stones or bubblers so I have no experience with them.
