My first 5 Gallon npt progress

hey guys, wanted to share my progress..

bought myself a fluval 5 gallon spec on black friday weekend for 45 bucks on sale, originally set it up with gravel as i had no funds for plants..

i bought a 50 watt aqueon heater for 28 bucks and a thermometer for 3 bucks.

recently i set it up as an npt for my male betta and mystery snail..

my substrate is miracle grow organic potting soil capped with play sand, both purchased from home depot. total cost of 13 dollars
.
i have 1 rock i took out of a lake.

i bought a small bag or river rocks from michaels crafts store and a small terra cotta pot for 3 dollars and put maybe 7 of them around the tank..

now onto the plants.

marimo moss ball 8 dollars
i have a fake tree with java fern on it bought from petco 14 dollars
i have what looks like ludwigia bought from petco for 3 dollars
also have another unnamed stem plant from petco for 3 dollars.
i have 1 piece drifwood with java moss tied on,cost me 5 dollars lfs.
ive got some kind of amazon sword from petco 6 dollars.
there is frogsbit floating, got a couple pieces free from lfs one day,it keeps multiplying crazy.
ive got hornworth floating, cost me 3 bucks for a huge amount of it from petco,i cut it up put some in both my tanks.ive also got 2 small anubias type of plant floating, they were doing bad in another tank, they are jyst floating now, will see if i get any growth..
ive got 1 long twisty piece of material covered in java moss bought from petco 4 dollars..

total cost of this 5 gallon npt so far 138 dollars..

cost of my male betta 3 dollars.
cost of my mystery snail 2 dollars..
cost of my malaysian trumpet snails and pond snails, they were free from lfs and petco.

i did put in 3 ghost shrimp. 40 cent each from petco,i can now only see 1 so no idea if all are alive still or not,ill get more soon..

so total cost of my livestock is around 6 dollars.

Wow it's beautiful! If you hadn't told me I never would have guessed it was your first NPT. I especially like the moss arch.
