Question about my betta

Hey!
I'm fairly new to owning bettas so bear with me. I bought one at Petsmart a couple weeks ago and he was in a jar labelled "Crowntail betta", but he is clearly not a crowntail! I just figured he got mixed up and went in the wrong jar and I'm assuming he's a halfmoon. My friend swears he is a rosetail, but I think it's highly unlikely that Petsmart would end up with one.

So what do you guys think? He is only from Petsmart so he isn't quite as stunning as some of the fish I've seen here! lol

Oh and please forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question.

You have a (very nice) halfmoon (or possibly super delta). He's not a rosetail, and that's a good thing.

he definately is not a crown tail lol but he is halfmoon i would assume
ikno there are all types of names for betta fish that are halfmoons but ijust got with halfmoons lol

Be glad, you got a good deal as Halfmoons cost more then crowntails do in petsmart.

You have a very pretty boy! Since I won't be breeding any time soon, I find that I love the ones with irregular fins, gives them character and personality.

I didn't think he was a rosetail, but my friend was very sure he was because he has a lot more finnage than her halfmoon. I'm glad he's not though! And it's awesome I got him a bit cheaper :)
