Curious about "Marbles"

Mushu and Jade seem to be having a love affair through their neighboring tanks, and Mushu's bubblenest is getting quite expansive. I'm in no position to breed them, but I was curious about the inheritance of the "marble" pattern in the HYPOTHETICAL situation if I were to breed them.

I'd like to remind anyone reading that I'm not actually going to breed these two, I'm just curious to the likelihood of marbles from a pairing like this.

I'm trying to learn a little more about genetics, so anyone who's willing to lay it out for me using small words would be my hero! :)

I'm curious as to how "marbling gene" (if that exists) works too.

Depending on if BOTH parents carry the marble gene, you would possibly get some, but marbling is recessive.

so, based on the appearance of Jade, the pretend babies would all be pretty much solid colored?

Yes, I believe so. I could be wrong about that, but I am thinking most would be solid coloured.

In the rare instance that the parents genes mutate, they MAY get some marbling, but not likely, unless the mother carried the marbling gene.

Wait.. that says it's partially dominant? In my experience, it has been mostly recessive...

Another question:
So to get a marble from our existing stock, we'd have to breed, and then linebreed carrier daughters back to dad (or another marbled male) to MAYBE get marbles? Or am I skewing the punnet square here? (I'm really trying to figure it out)
