What I would try first...water changes....Make a 25% water only today and then 50% water only for the next 2 days and see if this will perk him up.

Has he always had the buoyancy issue or is that new-You might need to start Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) treatment.

I wouldn't add any salt (sodium chloride) its not needed and not healthy for a Betta long term.

If you can I would add some other foods to his diet-a good quality pellet, flakes along with the food you have. The more varied the better IMO/E-what is missing in one-hopefully will be in the other for a more rounded diet to support long term health and immune response.

does he seem to have trouble swimming to the bottom of his tank? It kind of sounds like swim bladders. try feeding him a pea. peel the skin off and give him a 1/4 of a pea

Let me get some more photos. I am worried about the water temp changes.
I have a heater but temps seem to fluctuate between 76-80 all day. So I am not sure how to get it more consistent.

How do people get the water change Temperature to the right ##?
Tap water hot/cold to the right temp? Add water conditioner and let it set, suck out 25% (1.25 gallons from 5), add it back?

I've seen the pea posts, I guess it seems kinda hoky, but so many posts.
He has only been fasting for 20 hrs or so.
Does he need to fast more before trying the pea?

Can't see any of the pictures.

When doing a water change, I just turn the faucet on hot and turn on the cold until I get a number close to 78. Then I add conditioner, put it in, and let the heater do the work.

Any other suggestions?
Tried to find online, but couldn't, been feeding 2 pcs of DialATreat food.

Research here shows, needs to be a pellet instead, or best a frozen.

Best pellet? (have a local PetsMart)
Best frozen?
