Is this a good fish tank? It says that it is 5.90 gallons, but using the formula (height x length x width divided by 231) I got that it was closer to 8 gallons. (It was 12.5 x 15.75 x 9.375)http://www.amazon.com/Lees-Kritter-K...pr_product_top
Some people said that it cracked under water pressure, is that true?

I think it should be fine as long as you "fill" it slowly... I made the mistake of filling one in the bathtub and the strong flow of the tap was to much pressure and it cracked.

I've got 2 of those for 2 of my betta boys & they're awesome. I would say they hold about 5 gallons. They're narrower at the bottom then the top. I don't use the lids that came with them though. They blocked too much of the light. I bought eggcrate panels & cut them down to size.

I don't move mine at all as I do water changes with a hose. I think it stresses the tank walls when that happens.

yeah i think it would work. Ive never used one for a fish tank so im not realy sure but mine lasten through reptiles and tarantulas so i think it would be fine.

I've got three of the "large" (3 gallon) sized critter keepers. I love 'em.

Calculating volume based on the given dimensions won't work because the sides slope.

I pick them up and carry them to the sink for water changes. When cleaning, use a soft sponge, (not the abrasive side,) since they can scratch pretty easily. I clean mine out with hot water and either a soft sponge or a paper towel.

I like the lids, since they allow lots of air flow. I cut holes into the lid edge for the heater cords, but I've read that some people don't bother.

In the winter, I found that the lid was TOO ventilated, so I covered it with aluminum foil to keep the heat in. (Or, you could use plastic wrap, if you think the foil looks tacky. LOL

is the one in the OP 6 or so gallons? Those dimensions are bigger than a standard 5.5 gal

If anyone turns the broiler on, I'm taking my foil-wrapped fish tank and running away! LOL

(My parents are not fish-lovers, btw. When I first got my bettas, Mom said "Waste of time and money," and Dad said "Can we eat them?".... I don't live with them, though, so it's not an issue. They are fine with other animals though. Their dogs live like royalty. LOL)

Hahaha but I do think it would work. Lots of room, light, and cheap.
