Does my betta have finrot?

Hey, guys. I've been kind of worried, because I think that my betta Fireheart has finrot. He is a crowntail male from petsmart in a 2.5 gallon tank. He seems very happy and active. He has a messy ray, and one or two of his rays looks like they are double rays. (they are also the longest, and they brought me to look closer to see if something was up) His fins are tipped with a white-ish transparent color, which I think means that he is recovering from finrot. Here is a pic of him.

Huh...I guess he is either recovering or he just has a messy ray. The rays are uneven and they look kind of grungy...But doesn't that mean that he had fin rot and he is recovering? If not then bryanacute is not a good source for advice on fin rot lol.

Like crowntaillove3's said it could be recovering but if it looks like the tail is starting to deteriorate or get worse then i would be concerned.

I personally don't own crowntails because, in my experience they are more aggressive and its difficult to tell if the're is anything wrong with their fins.

I can see it but it's not too bad . Clean water and keeping up on his changes and he should grow out fine.. You said you got him from the store this way right? Stress coat at 1 ml per 1 gallon can help regrow his fins faster.

A tank that size requires 2 water changes a week.. one 50% and one 100% which will include a thorough rinsing of the gravel to remove poo.
