these are really good for your fish to eat. vacuum,fast him for a few days and he'll start eating them. my lil' guy really developed a taste for them. think of them as free live food, this is what he ate as a fry. with their food source gone and the betta eating them, they shouldn't be around too long. mine hunts for them in the gravel now. i totally freaked the first time i had them too. i thought they were all parasites.

No problem :) I believe it causes plants to lose water because the solute concentration outside of the plant is higher, so water moves out of the plants causing the plants to lose water. Something sciencey like that XD

When you buy the live plants in the water at petstore, make sure to soak them in Aquarium Salt before putting them in your aquarium. I soaked my for 20 minutes then rinsed really good. None of those plants lasted. I am having the best of luck with the tiny plants from Petsmart. They come prepackaged in a gel. Snail and pest free.

i would do a bleach dip or keep them in qt before i'd do salt.they absorb the salt and the cell walls break down. i personally keep mine in qt unless they come from a tube.
