Hi All,

Thanks for all the help identifying my DTHM Betta! He's doing well, eating Omega Betta Buffet and bloodworms (ick)..

I picked up this one at the same time... The store identified it as "Half Moon Plakat Male" I actually prefer plakats to others. I liked this one because of the resemblance to some "Fire Dragons" on Aquabid. Is he dragonscale? And is "he" he?

He is definitely a he because of the ventral fins as for color if I were to venture a guess I would say he is a dragon, but I am not an expert on colors.

looks like the pet store where u get them is doing a good job :), and now I'm sure that although you're a new member here..you're definitely not new to bettas LOL.

Aw, thanks... I'm not new to fishkeeping, lol, but bettas, yes. The pink EE in my avatar is my first, I got him just before I joined bettafish. A friend talked me into looking at them. I had assumed they were all the old veiltails, when I saw the fish now, well . I've been studying the stickys on here, the show betta photos and critiques and the care, so I'm learning what to look for. I have a 29g SA tank thats been set up for 10 years, an African Dwarf Cichlid tank set up for 2, and an 8g Nano shrimp tank as well as the 3x divided 10g for the bettas. Who knows what's next, lol..

The petstore is oddly enough, a Petco. A few of the ones here in town are really getting some good stock and caring for them. As a matter of fact, they have such nice ones people are waiting at the store on delivery days. I was lucky to find two as good as these on a Saturday evening.
