heater in 55 gallon tank broke!!

I'm writing on behalf of a friend with a 55 gallon tank. Her heater is broken and she doesn't have an extra. She's trying to find out if someone around here has an extra, but it's almost 10pm here, so not many people are still up.
I've told her to heat up some towels and blankets and wrap them around the tank, and also maybe put warm water bottles and those hand and feet warmers around it, but it's already -20 out and supposed to get colder.

What else can she do??

The closest wal-mart to us is over an hour away. We live up in the mountains where the closest grocery store only carries items tourists use on their vacations.

Plus our Wal-Mart carries just the basics, the biggest heater they carry is a 25w preset heater.
We've got it figured out though, my uncle had an extra heater my friend could borrow, and tomorrow, I'm going to the city (2 1/2 hours away) to buy a car and they have a couple pet stores there, so I'm going to pick one up for her.

I think the warm water bottles and insulation will have to work temporarily. You could probably try putting Saran Wrap over the tank to keep in the humidity... But your best bet is that trip to the city and any insulation that you can get. I've also heard of floating warm water bottles?
Good luck!

Glad you got an extra heater and it all figured out!! I hate when that happens!! Which has happened a lot to me, luckily my closest walmart is literally 2 miles away.
