When I first got my red Betta, I noticed darker coloring on the tips of his fins - I didn't know if this was his coloring if it was the start of a disease or something...
This is what he looked like when I first got him (about five days ago)
His body looks a bit darker in the more recent pictures because of the tank lighting changes and where he was in the tank... The only differences i've noticed in person are his fins.

I wouldnt be worried. I mean it does look like some minor fin rot but that can be fixed with what you were already doing, clean warm water. You can definitely add AQ salt, but I wouldnt yet. If it gets worse, THEN i would add some. 1tsp/gallon with water changes every day...replacing only the amount of salt that you removed each day.

For now should I just do 50% water changes per. day? I've already added some AQ salt (around a tablespoon), is that alright? I wouldn't think it could hurt.
Yeah he has some mild finrot which since you got him five days ago (and he had it when you got him) was due to the petshop not caring for him. AQ salt and clean water will clear it up really fast and he should bounce back from it easily. It's nothing CLOSE to what my little red guy had when I got him. Extream fin rot, ammonia burns ALL OVER his body, and bacterial infections. Was 2 months of hell for us but he recovered. Can't wait to see this guy brighten up again. He's very pretty, veiltails move soooo beautifully in the water, they are just amazing.

Wow! I'm glad to hear you were able to get him recovered!
I'll definitely post pictures when he's 100% well again
I won't lie I thought he wasn't going to pull through. He came to me in bad shape and his scares from the burns will never fully go away but otherwise he turned out so nice, can't wait to see your little man well again.

And...:O does he have blue eyes too?
Good thing he had a good caretaker to nurse him back!
And, I'm not sure, I'll have to get a closer look at him... It would be awesome if he did!
I just added the rest of the dissolved AQ salt to his tank, and did a tiny water change (10%) hopefully he'll be better in no time.
He has some mild fin rot which is not a big problem, but while I was looking very close to your photos I've noticed some sort of pineconing... or am I wrong? Maybe are just the scales because he doesn't seem to be bloated at all. I am confused...
