Moss addition

Hi,
I am new to this forum and just got Fred (rhymes with friend), a VT with mild fin rot (black edges) and is in QT. I got Fred a marina moss and I am wondering if I need to put the new moss in QT before introducing it to the tank when Fred recovers. He should be off in about 8 days. I am using AQ salt with my daily water change and removed all decor from the tank.

If so, do I put the moss in a jar with the new water I will prepare in my water change today? Do I need to rinse/ wash off those mossy floating stuff hanging on to the outside of the moss? Thanks.

What kind of moss? I would quarintine the moss.

Marimo Moss on the container. I got it from PetSmart.
Mine looks round.

Marimo got it. It would be okay in your Bettas Quarintine as long as your only using aquarium salt.

Marimo actually Benefits from aquarium salt.

QT'ing the moss for 4 days in tap water, not-conditioned, would be sufficient. the chlorine in tap water does well to kill anything that fish could get.

Its actually an algae.
