Got a couple pairs I'm going to start, probably tomorrow.. about to go set up the spawn tanks here shortly.

First pair I've had a couple people already tell me it's a good pairing, so I'm interesting in seeing what comes from them. They are similar size luckily, both a bit small.. she has experience, he hasn't, so I'm hoping he follows instinct and becomes a good daddy like his dad is (his dad is the second male) the picture shows him a lighter red, but he is just as vivid dark as his father, a bit more smoother in the body.

The second pair is my mystery pair.. I really like her colors (picture does her no justice), so going to see what comes from them. She has had a few spawns already.. and he has bred a few times too. Her top line isn't as smooth as I would like, so will be culling that out hopefully and try to straighten it out a bit more. But she is still lovely and can't wait to see what they produce. Unsure about her mother, her father has her colors and looks real good - so she does have some nice genes in her.

Both girls are from Chard56, both males are from Red Dragon Bettas.

So.. here's wishing me luck with these two pairs!

Try to breed back to daddy (if possible). If by then he is too "old" use a small tub and shallow method, about 3".

Me too Sena! I will have to look for a male to compliment her down the road more, but for now just going to have fun and see what I get :)

Breed which one back to daddy, and which daddy? lol.. I would love to breed my orange gold girl to the big red boy, but he's double her size easily, so definitely have to wait on that. So she's going with his son lol.
Or are you meaning the cambo girl spawn?

Got a few new guys.. one (turq dragon, last one) was an accident though, so I get a free fish of my choosing once he gets more stock in, plus I get to keep the one he accidentally sent me.. squee! May still use him for breeding, we'll see..

Thinking of using the red boy with a cambo girl, and the cellophane/red dragon with a cellophane style cambodian girl. We'll see how they work.. hope these boys get me some eggs!
