Petco bettas--how to report to corporate?

Hi!

I came back from petco a little while ago and I saw something horrific...
the same vt male I saw weeks ago(and posted about) with severe, severe late stage fin rot. And a ct male with early fin rot. This woman(I have her name) worker came when I called her and she took them both and put them in the back supposedly 'to treat' when questioned if they were going to treat them.

i seriously would have asked to take him home but I'm really in no place to take a sick betta. I can't risk fred's health(possible contamination, etc.)

She told me that they change the water at least three times a week but that was a big lie.

I snapped pictures with my phone(not the best quality because I was trying to be sneaky in case they would come and tell me to delete them, say I couldn't).

How can I contact corporate? /file a complaint? Should I?

You could also go to their FB page, and send them an email. I did this when I saw a betta being mistreated at Petsmart. They replied and gave me additional contact information so that I could report the issue.

You absolutely should report this, I would! When I look at the nice 5 and 10 gallon aquariums I keep for my babies and look at your pictures, I want to cry. I actually rescued a betta in terrible condition (like the betta in your first picture) from Walmart and he lived a happy life for about 2 years. It took such little time and effort on my part to bring him back to health, just same basic care.

I call their 800 number and raise hell. I've done it before on a few occasions. Email and comments they can ignore a person on the line they can't. What you will need is the store location, preferably the number, but address works well as well. What the employees did to fix the issue if at all. Tell them also you WILL be going back to check on a later date.

@DiiQue the BBB (Better Business Bureau) as well. They're more screwed if the BBB starts getting on their case.

Yeah, I went to a Petco a few days back and was horrified. There was a beautiful baby betta, dead. Gorgeous veiltail, dead. An EE that my mom liked, in very bad shape. I was gonna take pics, but I would've cried every time I saw the pics. I want to rescue those little guys, but my parents say I can't have any more.
