New baby rescue!

The ammonia level in his water was really high and his fins are all clamped. I hope I can make him happy again!

Thank you! I hope he perks up some soon. I got him to eat some brine shrimp so I feel a bit better :)

Probaby around 5 or 6 weeks? They really shouldn't be sold this young but the people at Petco are dumb so they sell them as a novelty. They try to feed them the same pellets that they feed the adults and the pellets are too big for their tiny mouths and most of them end up starving :(

Might even be older, but stunted from the poor care. It's hard to tell how old these babies really are :/ Good luck getting the little guy healthy and thriving!

Was size tank do you have him in? I know babies can be easily overwhelmed if they've spent weeks in a cup (i.e. half their lives). He probably just needs some time to realize he's safe and in the care of someone who will give him love and attention

Right now he's in a 1 gallon bowl a little over half full. When he starts swimming around more and being happy ill upgrade him :)

Oh that's good actually, it's the perfect size for getting him acclimated :)
